What do sitting, sex, and stress have in common?
The pelvic floor is a muscle group located below your hips and attached to your pubic bone and sacrum. Your pelvic floor acts like a diaphragm, supporting your abdominal organs, controling your sphincter openings, and stabilizing your pelvis. Aside from its physiological role in all things pelvic, this muscle group often holds the tension associated with stress and trauma.
Pelvic Floor Massage
Pelvic floor massage is a combination of physical and energetic techniques designed to release muscular and fascial tension within the pelvic bowl. It can address current physical symptoms, as well as symptoms associated with birth or traumas that the body may “hold” in the pelvic floor.
Working together, we can resolve your chronic pain and discomfort, restoring optimal function to the pelvic organs, musculoskeletal structure and nervous system.
A pelvic floor massage can help you with:
orthopedic issues like hip pain, lower back pain, joint pain, tailbone pain, or pubic bone pain
piriformis syndrome or sciatica
Improving muscle-related incontinence
pelvic pain during intercourse
menstrual cramping: Realign cervix/womb internally & externally
fertility by relieving tension of pelvic floor muscles and encouraging blood flow
traumatic association, allowing for re-connection of mind/body energy

prolapses, urethrocele, rectocele, cystocele
symptoms of vulvodynia, vaginismus, and vestibulitis

preparation for birth by relaxing muscles and mindfully connecting mother and child through breath and visualization
muscle tension and assists in structural re-alignment after birth

I injured my hip and my PT recommended I see a pelvic floor specialist to see if a pelvic floor issues could be contributing to my ongoing hip pain. After two pelvic floor massages with Machelle, my hip pain decreased, as did my low back pain. Machelle is very knowledgeable and maid me feel completely at ease during the sessions. I would highly recommend working with Machelle if you think you may have pelvic floor issues.

It felt like we were releasing decades of tension I had no idea I was carrying in areas of my body that had been overlooked for way too long. I cannot recommend enough the pelvic floor work for any mama or any woman with reproductive or sexual trauma. The experience promoted profound physical release, but also emotional and spiritual healing.
